Since the announcement of a possible fourth sequel of the "God of War" series, fans are even more excited for the additional game details that will be revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles Convention Center. Thus gamers will also be expecting answers from specualtions on whether protagonist "Kratos" will still be appearing in God of War 4 or not.
According to a source, it has been rumored that "Kratos" might not be making an appearance in the fourth sequel of God of War 4. This speculation was basically brought upon because of what occurred to "God of War 3". Now, the question is who will be the main character that will lead in the PS4 game sequel? Unfortunately, that remains to be a blur since no official statements were as of yet.
However, a hint of a 2016 or 2017 release date has been reportedly revealed by Sony's Santa Monica Studio in contrast to rumors that God of War 4 will be released sometime this year.
Also, the same site mentioned that the birth of a "non-returning Kratos" rumor started at a Twitter conversation where Santa Monica Studio allegedly replied. Apparently, a user under the name of "Tyrantil" suggested of not bringing back the character of "Kratos or Greek Mythology", and tagged the developer where Santa Monica replied by saying "Yes, the gods have verified this to be true."
Meanwhile, "God of War 3" Remastered version for PS4 will be made available on July 14 which offers a 1080p HD resolution with all-new features and DLC contents.
Available for PS4 consoles, God of War 4 is expected to release not later than 2018. As per the question whether "Kratos" will still play a major role in the latest sequel that remains to be seen until official announcements will be made.
