EXO members Kris & Luhan final judgment: Will the legal battle with SM Entertainment continue?

By

Artist breakaways seem to be commonplace nowadays. It appears like in the case of Luhan and Kris Wu, former members of the K-pop boy band EXO, it's the fans who must bear much of the aggravation.

The ongoing lawsuits filed by record label producer SM Entertainment against Luhan and Kris Wu in China and Hong Kong courts have caused inconvenience for the rising stars. SM Entertainment has sued the artists for alleged violation of their contracts by promoting and embarking on projects in China. Amidst the legal dispute, it's the fans who seem to be vexed no end and worried about the other Chinese members of EXO.

Kris and Luhan started out in the entertainment scene as part of EXO back in 2012. They decided to have their contracts nullified in May & October 2014. The reasons they stated were the somewhat tight scheduling of work, and health issues.

The recent mediation between the fast-rising celebrities and the record label company did not yield a clear resolution, showing that there may be protracted legal battle. The legal counsels of both camps have remained tight-lipped on what ensued during the mediation.

As the dispute continues, both Luhan and Kris Wu seem to be getting worldwide notice. Both celebrities have been receiving offers for movies, commercial and events from entertainment entities. Both Luhan and Kris may be tucking movie projects under their belts.

Luhan had earlier stated through social media that he remains thankful of what he had experienced in the past as EXO member, and has vowed to work harder. He also expressed optimism that the future will be brighter. Indeed, taking a risk and breaking away from a group may eventually lead to a positive outcome for talented celebrities. Ironing out kinks and handling the legal issues that may impede progress are things that cannot be overlooked, though.
