"Suicide Squad" plot and casting updates: Scott Eastwood is Wonder Woman's love interest; casts super-villains Killer Croc and King Shark

After Scott Eastwood confirmed that he had been cast in "Suicide Squad" as Wonder Woman's love interest Steve Trevor, rumours are circulating that the "Wonder Woman" solo movie will also crossover "Suicide Squad."

There are already plot rumors that "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" would intersect with "Suicide Squad," to introduce some villains and other supporting roles, so it will not be surprising if the "Wonder Woman" movie will do as well.

Latino Review reported the movie plot rumor that Scott Eastwood, son of Clint Eastwood, will briefly appear in "Suicide Squad" as Steve Trevor. In DC Comics, Steve Trevor, an A.R.G.U.S. (Advanced Research Group for Uniting Super-Humans) team member, plays a key role in Wonder Woman's storyline linked to have a brief romantic relationship.

The Latino Review also implied that since "Suicide Squad" is leaning heavily on the influence of the New 52 comic book, there is a big possibility that the 2017 movie "Wonder Woman" will interplay with "Suicide Squad" and will also set up Scott Eastwood for a major role in the standalone film.

The character and plot details from "The New 52" comic book reads:

"In a conversation between Steve Trevor and Amanda Waller five years ago, Steve tries to convince Waller that Diana and the Amazons are not a threat to global security, as they are benevolent. Steve then becomes the U.S. government's liaison to Diana during her stay in Washington, D.C. and later becomes the head of the newly formed A.R.G.U.S., (Advanced Research Group for Uniting Super-Humans), as well as the UN's liaison to the newly formed Justice League. Promoted to the rank of Colonel, his assistant is Etta Candy and he has made his feelings and attraction to Wonder Woman clear to her, although his feelings weren't been reciprocated."

Eastwood also had a supporting role in "Suicide Squad" director David Ayer's last movie, Fury. Meanwhile, professional boxer Raymond Olubowale and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will also join "Suicide Squad".

Obulowale will be part of Amanda Waller's security team, as well as doing motion capture work for King Shark. Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who is best known for his roles in "Lost" and "Thor: The Dark World," is set to play Batman villain Killer Croc.

Eastwood, Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Obulowale would reportedly join Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and Jared Leto as The Joker.

"Suicide Squad" will start filming in mid-April and run through the end of August. It is slated to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
