"Days Of Our Lives" star Drake Hogestyn confirmed rumors that his character, John is the father of Paul. Speaking to TV Insider, Hogestyn revealed that after learning that his son is Paul, the two will be facing a lot of challenges in trying to mend their broken father and son relationship.

While some may think that Paul's sexual orientation might be one of the hurdles for John to face, Hogestyn said that Paul's sexuality will not be an issue between them. "John is very cool and accepting and that's important for the audience to see. The more we educate, the more we can fight the fear," Hogestyn said.

He also admitted that things might have looked differently if John found out 20 years ago, but as times have changed, John is "determined" to mend their broken relationship. Hogestyn also brushed up on Paul's mom, Tori. He said that Tori tried to tell John about his son when she came back to Salem, but back then, John was a paranormal priest, which is why Tori could not tell him about Paul.

Hogestyn also said that Paul was a bit dense when he did not realize that Tori and John had something in common - they're both Japanese. "She and John went their separate ways and he never imagined that those couple of nights they spent together had resulted in a child," Hogestyn revealed.

Hogestyn also hinted that fans who have been anticipating for John and Marlena to get back together may have their wish granted now that John learned about having a son with Tori.
