Terrence Howard's legal entanglement with ex-wife Michelle Ghent is getting nastier.
After reports that the "Empire" star's second ex-wife, Michelle Ghent, has a previous agreement with Howard for spousal support and charges that he is behind on payments, Howard is now accusing Ghent of blackmailing him into the said agreement and plans to seek legal intervention to settle the matter.
The Oscar-nominated actor is now seeking legal remedy to cut Michelle Ghent's spousal support, according to TMZ. The reports said that Ghent had allegedly blackmailed Howard of leaking his naked pictures and videos, forcing him into an exorbitant spousal support agreement.
Ghent and Howard are battling over spousal support after the actor's success with the "Empire" TV series. Ghent claimed that Howard is behind on his support payments.
Previous reports are saying that Howard is required to pay Michelle $5,800 a month in spousal support, but if he makes more than $62,500 a quarter, she gets 21% of the excess. According to Ghent, Howard is already making $125,000 per episode in Season 1.
Ghent contends that aside from owing her more than $500,000, Howard is also hiding his assets. She also demands an increase in her monthly spousal support.
However, Howard is reportedly planning to file a legal claim later this month alleging that Ghent has only been receiving spousal support beyond the six months that she was supposedly entitled to because she was blackmailing him with scandalous pictures and videos which will threaten his career. Ghent is supposed to get spousal support only for six months based on half the length of time they were married.
Terrence Howard, 46, married Ghent, a commercial production employee, in January 2010. Ghent filed for divorce in February 2011 and was finalized in May 2013. Although Howard and Ghent were married for only a year, Howard agreed to provide Ghent with five years of spousal support.
According Gossip Cop, one picture allegedly shows Howard in the shower, though the exact nature of the other material has not been disclosed.
