Despite issues surrounding game director Hideo Kojima and his studio's relationship disconnection with Konami, Silent Hills and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain too are plagued with issues, including Silent Hills's imminent suspension and MGSV: The Phantom Pain's possible change of plot as Snake's voice change suggests.
A recent conversation of voice actor Troy Baker with fans last Wednesday reveals hints suggesting that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain might indeed be ditching David Hayter, the prominent voice behind Snake, over Kiefer Sutherland.
Although Baker did not utter confirmed what used to be a rumor, he seriously asked fans to conclude a judgment after the game's official release in September. "He's doing something different. It's going to make sense. Just stick with it... Play the game before you reserve any judgment," said Baker, referring to Sutherland's gig.
Meanwhile, the voice actor also hinted some jaw-dropping details of the content describing the game "a bit more well-rounded."
According to reports, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the last Konami-published game Kojima will direct so there is likely no release happening for Silent Hills as Konami removes logo of Kojima Productions from the game's site. According to a statement of Konami, the publisher has switched to a headquarters-based org from being a studio-based.
However, the issue on the cancellation of Silent Hills' release has neither been confirmed by Konami nor Kojima's camp. In another report, Konami has totally cut ties with Kojima Productions, including email access, corporate calls and Internet. Kojima's team are now working as contractors at Konami, including Kojima himself.
Silent Hills was first announced in 2012 and will be co-directed by Guillermo del Toro and Kojima. The game is supposed to star actor Norman Reedus. In August 2014, an interactive trailer for Silent Hills received good reviews after it showed up on PlayStation 4.
