The Witcher 3 Dev Reveals In-Game Features: Not Tip of Huge, Epic, Jaw-dropping Iceberg Still

By

As development of the Witcher 3 is in progress, developers continue to give off teasing insights on its new game features, some of its content and hints surprises for fans of the franchise. However, according to Alexandre Boiret, Localization manager of CD Projekt RED, the number of features and teasers revealed to fans is not even a considerable amount,

"It's not even the tip of the iceberg."

However, these are game feature updates Witcher 3 developers have released so far.

Huge, Epic Game Events

As the Witcher 3 is set in a war-torn world, it would be logical to have huge, epic game moments where colossal armies clash. The same war-torn fantasy world was done in Skyrim, but many gamers deemed the game's environment as too "serene" for a civil war ravaged countryside. Senior game designer Damien Monnier said in an interview covered by DualShockers,

"There's a war in the background. The example that you've given, I can't really tell you anything, but we have some really epic... That word gets thrown around too much, but it truly is epic, it's jaw-dropping, huge setpieces."

Off-shore locations to visit

The world of Geralt will not only feature a massive landscape to explore, but also have off-shore locations one can travel to. In an interview covered by Segmentnext, Game writer jakub Szamalek revealed that there would be islands and islets gamers can travel too, whether by boat or by swimming.

"We have designed five large islands and about the same number of smaller ones, which we have not yet demonstrated in public."

Szamalek continued, "Some of them will be associated with Geralt's story, while others just hide behind a lot of secrets. In general, they all carry some meaning. Our team spent a lot of time to recreate the world of Geralt and make it feel alive."

Pre-set Camera mode for almost everything done in the game

Witcher 3 Website coordinator Marcin Momot said in a Twitter response over the question about camera systems,

"There are different presets for exploration outdoors, indoors, horse riding, sailing, etc."

This adds a new depth of visuals gamers will see when playing the game. This hints that almost every major activity in the game such as horseback riding, boat sailing and such will have its own camera view. Momot continued that these presets are not accessed manually, as it,

"...automatically adjusts."

The Witcher 3 wild hunt is set for a May 19 release after a series of disappointing delays. However, with the volume of features developers are announcing, the delay could be a good sign that CD Projekt RED is working on a gaming masterpiece that is worth the wait.
