Paris Hilton has nothing but positive words to say for long-time pal Kim Kardashian, who used to work as her personal assistant before becoming a huge reality TV star herself in the hit E! TV series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
In a recent interview with Yahoo Style, the world-famous heiress shared her thoughts on Kim's huge rise to fame, admitting she feels proud of what her friend has become and achieved throughout the years. When asked if she believed that the Kardashian brand wouldn't exist today without her, Paris modestly replied: "We've known each other since we were little girls, we've always been friends. It's nice to inspire people, so yeah, I'm really proud of her and what she's done."
Paris, 34, and Kim, 34, share a lot of common denominators when it comes to their careers. Paris shot to fame in 2003 when her private sex tape with her then-boyfriend, entitled "1 Night in Paris," was made public. Later that year, she starred in the now-defunct reality TV series "The Simple Life," which she referred to as "one of the first reality shows." Paris and her co-star and best pal Nicole Richie became household names at that time due to the show's popularity.
Similarly, Kim rose to fame when her sex tape hit the Internet in 2007, and months later she debuted in "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" together with her family, according to Page Six. The show is now on its 10th season. Paris and Kim have now established their own respective empires. Paris has kept herself busy making fragrances, allowing her to make $2billion in sales, said Yahoo.
Meanwhile, Kim, aside from commercial endorsements and earnings from her hit reality show, has also been making money through digital ventures. Her wildly successful mobile app game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, reportedly raked in over $74 million last year and is predicted to bring in another $200 million in 2015.
In an interview with Adweek magazine, Kim said she wanted to have a "bigger presence in the tech world," following the success of Kim Kardashian: Hollywood.
