'Mad Men' finale spoilers teased that the upcoming episode will be very exciting as the show coming to an end. In recent interviews, creator Matt Weiner and director Scott Hornbacher spoke how the show will end.
The seventh and final season of the American television drama series Mad Men consists of 14 episodes split into two, seven-episode parts: the first half, titled "The Beginning", began on April 13, 2014, on AMC; the second half, titled "The End of an Era", premiered on April 5, 2015.
The recent episode threw us back into some things we have missed last year. It included Don Draper confronting his mortality, and Peggy Olson realizing she wants to be spontaneous though she is not sure just yet if she can be.
AMC is never particularly keen to share details on 'Mad Men' finale spoilers, except that "New Business" is the title for the next installment, and the short synopsis for this is below:
"Roger gives Don some unwanted advice; Peggy and Stan disagree over an account's personnel; Harry asks for Don's blessing."
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with E!, the mastermind Matt Weiner talked about the show will end. He describes it as something of a "caption contest," because he usually arrives at an image he wants, and then must figure out what it means, and how to get there.
"I see Betty on an airplane or whatever-they're more specific than that," Weiner said. "And then as I start writing when we get there, I don't want to do it anymore, because it's a commitment and you're painting yourself into a corner. This one had the same kind of feeling, especially because there's not going to be any more show after it. I kept thinking, however it ends will reflect on the beginning of the show, and that was a little bit of pressure. But I don't know, I always enjoyed that, and I like taking risks and we found something that I think is very true to the story. You know, every show has its own ending, and I think we found ours."
In an interview with Deadline, Scott Hornbacher, who directed nine pivotal episodes of the series - including the Season 6 premiere and Season 7 midseason return, spoke how the beloved show is going to end.
He said, "I feel very strongly that the way the show ends is a culmination of Don's story and the series in a way that it is very appropriate and gratifying. I feel like we did everything we could to execute it in the best way possible, and I'm pretty sure people are going to embrace it. It certainly is a fitting end in my view."
