Actor Tom Hardy does not think that it will take another 30 years for him to be in the driver's seat of another "Mad Max: Road to Fury" movie sequel.
When asked by The Hollywood Reporter, if he would reprise his iconic role of Max Rockatansky, Tom Hardy said it would "largely depend on the performance" of "Mad Max: Fury Road" film. However, he expressed his confidence that the said film will not be the last. "I have no shadow of doubt in my mind that we'll be going on again with this," Hardy said optimistically.
In the interview, Hardy also revealed that he had some kind of premonition that he woul do the role later in life. He narrated that his pet dog tied him to the series long before he signed for the role. "By the time I was 15,16, 17, I got a dog called Mad Max. He was given to me actually. They said, ‘His name is Mad Max and I changed the name to Maximoose. He died the year that I made ‘Max.' There's a certain linear sort of coincidence as to how I feel about this now that I've ended up playing him."
Based on the trailers, "Mad Max: Fury Road" is already considered an epic reboot, with even more menacing looking cars and ominous characters. Tom Hardy is joined by co-stars Charlize Theron (Imperator Furiosa ) and Nicholas Hoult as they race across the desert in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
"Mad Max: Fury Road" is the fourth film of George Miller‘s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. But this is also the first sequel without Mel Gibson.
"Mad Max: Road to Fury" will have its world premiere on May 14 at the Cannes Film Festival, two weeks after the latest superhero film, "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" opens in theaters. "Mad Max: Fury Road" races into theaters on May 15th.
