Mass Effect 4 Update: Gaming Hardware Today Allows More Cool Stuff Adding More Milestones to Hit

By

Mass Effect 4 developer Bioware has a lot of expectations riding on their shoulders as current gen hardware allows more 'cool stuff' to be made in games. This serves as a double-edged sword for the company as these cool stuffs are being expected by fans and critics who knows how powerful the current gaming hardware is.

In the days following the official announcement of Mass Effect 4, Bioware had continually flaunted their achievements to the online community. Milestones passed are broadcasted widely to rouse the excitement of fans, show off the stability of the company and the progressive development of the game. However, as with games that have gone before, much anticipation can lead to massive disappointments and many are hoping that ME4 will not be a disappointment.

In a Twitter response covered by Gamingbolt, Jos Hendricks, Staffer at Bioware said, when asked about the development of the game using current gen hardware.

"It changes the bottleneck of how much power we have to work with. But in my day-to-day, it doesn't change, really."

He pointed out that the bottleneck that constrained them with last gen hardware has changed. Hendricks continued,

"With more power comes a bit more freedom for cool stuff to do..."

ME4 will feature a massive single player campaign

After the announcement that ME4 will upgrade the multiplayer feature of the game, many were concerned that it will slash single play dramatically. However, to dispel the rumours, Chris Wynn, Senior developer at Bioware said to fans, as reported by IBtimes that ME4 will have a "massive" single player campaign.

"If anyone is concerned that online will take away from single player, I assure you that SP will be MASSIVE in the next Mass Effect."

ME4 will have photo-realistic character animation

Even without Commander Shepard, gamers will be compensated by the loss of a beloved hero or heroine for a dose of photo-realistic animation goodness. The hardware to make these kind of animation is now possible and Bioware is expected to take advantage of it to the fullest. Cameos from previous ME characters are expected and the revival of the MAKO tank from ME1 is confirmed.

Mass Effect 4 is rumoured to have a 2016 release date, but no conclusive evidence hints that Bioware isn't planning to have a 2015 release late this year. Unless the company specifically announces a definite date, many are still hoping that the new game will have its debut sooner than expected.
