Nintendo recently announced latest free patch 1.3 for both Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The version 1.3 patch addresses various bugs that cause the game to malfunction. With a total size of 271 blocks, it can be downloaded for free directly from the Nintendo eShop or simply follow the update prompts from the game itself.
The purpose of the update is to provide a smoother gaming experience for loyal fans of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire which is technically optional. Although, it eventually becomes mandatory when accessing online features from either of the series. This is the third patch released ever since the game's introduction in November 21, 2014.
The first update version 1.1 was made on November 25, 2014, four days after the game's release which addressed game imperfections. Version 1.2 did not take too long to follow being released on December 3, 2014 and fixed bigger issues including the game freezing when entering the hall of fame. Nintendo is yet to say what issues have been specifically fixed in version 1.3 since the patch notes only states non-specific bug fixes.
As of the moment, Nintendo is receiving reports on speculations that the "bug fixes" bring in additional game problems specifically, preventing users from creating and modifying Pokémon. The company is yet to release information about this issue nor have they even recognized it. Though, the reports are only coming from a select and small group of people.
A few days into the update's release, users are starting to question the issues that have been fixed. Moreover, some have become irritated about the fact that it is required in order to access online features. For most, the update has become a nuisance rather than beneficial.
With issues surrounding the patch release for Pokemon Omega and Alpha Sapphire, it is likely that another patch will be announced anytime soon. Though, Nintendo is yet to confirm this but might as well be prepared especially that the Pokémon franchise is one of the leading game products of the company. Something that they are not willing to lose in terms of market.
