What a treat after concert gig, Marilyn Manson was reportedly punched in his face while eating in a restaurant in Canada. Some reports suggested that the 46-year old Goth singer was just accommodating fans who approached him when a man attacked him. Meanwhile there's also an angle that the multi-talented artist provoked his attacker by calling his female friend a bitch.
According to TMZ's source, Manson went to Denny's restaurant at 2am after his show in Alberta, Canada. Apparently, the said show was part of his tour to promote his latest album 'The Pale Emperor.' However, the source shared that the singer had an argument with people seating in nearby table. A guy from that group punched him after Marilyn allegedly commented that his girlfriend is a bitch.
In TMZ's interview with singer's manager, he denied that the singer gave nasty remark. He added that Manson just politely accepting two female fans' request to take a photo with him when someone hit him. His claim was same with Johnny Scott, a witness in the incident interviewed by Toronto Sun.
"He was being friendly with everyone, anyone who wanted a picture, he would give them a picture, anyone who wanted an autograph he would give them an autograph," the witness said. "They were just talking and the guy just punched him right in the face without any provocation."
Meantime, E! News got a statement from a spokesperson of Lethbridge Regional Police, who confirmed the altercation incident.
"On April 5 around 2:45 a.m. Lethbridge Police responded to a report of an altercation at a Denny's restaurant along the 400 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Investigation determined that three people had been involved in a physical altercation and sustained minor injuries. No charges were laid and the file has been concluded."
E! shared that they tried to get the names of involved individuals but the Police refused to identify them.
"As it is our policy not to identify victims (except in homicide/fatal collision files) or release the identity of an accused unless charges have been laid, we are not able to disclose further information with respect to the parties involved." TMZ reported the Police shared that there no filed charges after the incident, but Manson's camp may press charges soon.
In other story, Marilyn had a Reddit AMA session to promote 'The End Times Tour' on July 7th with Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan. The two music artists receive diverse questions during the session, including their weirdest moment with a fan. Manson openly shared that it's when he was mistook as Michael Jackson.
"I would say that one of the weirdest things that anyone has ever said to me - well they didn't say it TO me, but I was walking into a movie theater, and I happened to have a black fedora on, and someone yelled 'ISN'T THAT MICHAEL JACKSON?!?!' Manson' answer to a fan's question.
"Now, I don't know if they were a fan of me or Michael Jackson. There's lots of things that people have said to me ... there's a lot of people who when they tell you how they feel about your music, I keep those locked in my memory bank. Those are things that remind me of the collateral effect of what I do."
