Ant-Man Latest Update: Edgar Wright leaving as the film's director; Peyton Reed is in

By

The shrinking and growing superhero of Marvel Cinematic Universe will hit the big screen soon; 'Ant-Man', the small but terrible hero is off on its wheel donning a bionic-like suit inspired with that of Iron Man and Bumblebee. The said marvel superhero will be played by the comedienne actor Paul Rudd.

In the film, the saga of Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet van Dyne takes place during the Cold War, long before The Avengers is formed. The movie will actually focus on Ant-Man II, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), in a tweaked version of his comic book origin (steals from Pym, is reformed as a hero, takes on evil industrialist to save sick daughter, etc.). The biggest change is separating Hank Pym from the Avengers team origin.

The film was originally directed by Edgar Wright working on the pre-production process for 8 years since 2006 but left the directing job after having conflict and creative differences with what Marvel wanted with the film.

Kevin Feige answered 'the notion that Marvel was scared, the vision was too good, too far out for Marvel is not true. And I don't want to talk too much about that because I think our movies speak to that. Go look at Iron Man 3; go look at The Winter Soldier; go see Guardians of the Galaxy later this month. It would have to be really out there to be too out there for us.

Nevertheless, Ant Man according to Marvel is going to be an exciting one. Marvel left these words: 'Peyton is going to do a tremendous job and the cast is tremendously dedicated and the script is getting into amazing shape. You wouldn't expect a producer to say anything different, but when that movie comes out it will be the absolute best version of Ant-Man that could have existed.'

'Ant Man' which is now in Peyton Reed's Helm will be out on release on July 17, 2015.
