While Holden's response still has fans scratching their heads as to whether or not they would get to see her character return, it will definitely be a plus for the show to have her back, given the success that she has attained in 'The Walking Dead' as Andrea in seasons 1 through 3.
To give newer viewers a background on the character Holden will be playing if she does indeed return, Marita Covarrubias was a character that appeared throughout the fourth season of X-FIles as an informant to Agent Fox Mulder. She also played a significant role in the season finale, as a witness in the murder trial of the said Agent.
Another interesting update on the show is a recent interview made by Variety with actor David Duchovny (who played Fox Mulder in 'X-Files') about his thoughts on the revival, as well as the shows that he and his fellow actor Gillian Anderson (who played Dana Scully) were currently in, which are 'Aquarius' and 'Hannibal,' respectively. When asked about how similar 'Hannibal' was going to be with 'X-Files,' Duchovny simply answered:
"I'm not a violence fan, and I don't look at it so much so I don't think about it. I've seen some images from 'Hannibal,' I think that's well within what we need. I can't imagine us wanting to get any weirder and darker than that, so I feel like we're fine."
'The X-Files' may begin filming this summer if everything is straightened out.
