"Game of Thrones" season 5 spoilers tease fans that Jon Snow (Kit Harington) may find himself falling for Stannis Baratheon's (Stephen Dillane) mistress Melisandre (Carice van Houten). Rumor has it that Melisandre may know something about Jon Snow's real heritage.
According to IB Times, Melisandre coming onto Jon may hint that she knows something about Jon's real family and may even confirm the infamous R+L=J theory. The theory states that Jon may actually be the rightful heir to the Iron Throne after being born from nobility.
The outlet cited that Melisandre does not attach herself to men if she finds them useless. Melisandre may actually know that Jon is the rightful heir to the throne, which is her reason for seducing him.
Kit Harington also seemed to tease fans in an interview with EW. Harington said that his character, Jon is "intrigued" by Melisandre's personality. Harington, on the other hand, finds Jon funny that he always finds himself with redheads even after Ygritte's death in season 4.
"There's definitely a future there this season, with him and her. Who knows what Melisandre sees in people, but she's obviously obsessed with bastards and noble blood," said Harington.
The actor also hinted that Melisandre knows there is something special about Jon, which is why she ends up seducing him. Harington called it Melisandre's "power play" and said it was going to be an interesting battle between the two.
Harington also admitted that Jon has no time to mourn for Ygritte's loss in season 5. According to him, Jon has already gotten used to losing important people in his life to the point where he has found an effective way to deal with the loss.
