Elena Swaps Body With Someone Else
Kaitlin Thomas of TV.com cited the possibility that "The Vampire Diaries" will employ the same approach employed by its counterpart, "The Originals" when one of its key actresses, Claire Holt departed the show.
According to Thomas, this may come as a possible option for Elena to exit from the series, however, it does not give justice and respect to the character that Dobrev has held for the last six seasons.
Elena Finds A Cure, Turns Human, But Gets Killed
Thomas also hinted of a more plausible option than the first one. According to Thomas, the show recently reintroduced the idea of having a cure to turn into a human once again.
Gossip and Gab reported that Elena and Damon might take a sip of the said cure, turn into humans, and live happily ever after like a fairytale would. As happy as this storyline might go, there is a sad twist to this plot. Once Elena becomes mortal, she suddenly gets killed. Who kills her or if she really gets killed; the mystery remains unknown.
Elena Turns Into A Human And Damon Erases Her Memory
This plot is another option being considered by many critics and fans of TVD. According to the outlet, Elena will take a sip of the cure, but Damon won't. Once Elena becomes a human, Damon erases her memories of him, his brother, and everything that happened after she met the Salvatore brothers.
Nina Dobrev's exit from "The Vampire Diaries" is truly a big loss to the show, given that Dobrev has been in the show since day one, but like all things in life, some people stay while some people go; the only thing that matters is that the show will still go on.
