Atlus hasn't confirmed Persona 5 official release although they mentioned about having the game this year. Hoax articles were out that it would be launched in October.
Recently, there were reports that the game would be released in October. However, the game developer hasn't affirmed these claims. One report said, "Release date has been allegedly set to be on October 2015 by Atlus."
Yet, there were no direct supported announcements through Atlus' official website, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. Thus, it could be guessed that these reports are one of the expected hoax articles published online. There is also high possibility that the game developer would release these details during the Electronic Entertainment Expo to happen this year.
So far, what the game developer recently stated was the recent statement from the game director himself. As Katsuhiro Harada said in an interview, "In a nutshell, if I were trying to explain what this game is trying to evoke, I'd say it's like if you took something like a picaresque novel and then threw in, for lack of a better word, realistic, down to earth 'academy juveniles'."
Meanwhile, while waiting for the official release of Persona 5 from the game developer themselves, there will be new character to join team. As mentioned from these reports, Phantom from today's Yomiuri Shimbun advertisement will be joining roster.
Harada added details about the roles of the characters in the game by explaining, "The protagonists of Persona 5 themselves are on the run for doing what they think is right after something happens completely out of the blue."
He also cited that both the main and the minor characters that will be featured in the gameplay will be giving players a good blending in the plot.
"That mixture of thrills and not-so-larger-than-life cast of characters is what composes the idea of 'academy juveniles' for us. We think that these characters that are going to be a little rough around the edges than those who have come before them in the series, coupled with the strides we've made in visual and sound design we can pull off something really special here," he explained.
Having new characters as well as features to the gameplay, Persona 4, the prequel of the upcoming series, also has released new pre-order bonus details. Some portions of the pre-order features are the incentives to offer for gamers that includes the Persona 5 Blue-Ray disc.
Sadly, this pre-order bonus and incentives are only available for Japan this coming June. Plus, these features are compatible with PS Vita platform. So, aside from new characters to join roster, and all these in-game features slated this year, fans should still keep their selves updated for Persona 5 announcements from Atlus themselves.
