'Elder Scrolls Online' explores cross-platform PS4, Xbox progress mechanics with new transfer plans

By

"The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" will soon be making its debut on both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but gamers can already get started on their journey through Tamriel even on the PC. Players who purchased and registered a copy of the game prior to June 30 of last year will be glad to know all the progress they made through the game can now be moved to either the Playstation 4 or Xbox One if they choose to do so.

This offer is part of the transfer option now being given to players ahead of the game being launched officially on both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

If the players do choose to take their games to either the consoles, their entire accounts will be copied, thus becoming the reason why the process of being able to transfer the progress is possible, according to Gamespot.

Players should be aware that once their accounts have been copied to either the Playstation 4 or Xbox One versions of the game that the progress made on either one of the platforms will now be exclusive of one another.

Not all of the information on the PC-based accounts of the game can be transferred however, as things such as friend and ignore lists as well as the raid leaderboard stats among others, will remain exclusive to the older PC copies. Certain items and features will also not make the move across platforms, according to Gamespresso.

In addition, players who qualify for the transfer option can also purchase their Playstation 4 or Xbox One copy of the game for only $20. The original price of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" is $60. Players who intend to buy a discounted copy of the game need to do so before May 9.

No word yet on whether players who purchased and registered their PC copy of the game after the June 30, 2014 deadline can also take advantage of the transfer option. "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" will be available on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One starting June 9 of this year, according to Gospel Herald.
