Aside from Jack, Victor holds a long standing grudge against Sharon for burning his ranch and for making his son despondent. Recall how Victor efforts to ruin Sharon and Nicholas wedding and succeeds in the end. He sends Phyllis, the only person who knows about Sharon's secret so Victor made sure he sends the best doctors to bring Phyllis out of a year-long coma and make her a tool for revenge against Sharon.
An exciting The Young and the Restless plot reveals that Sharon is framed up for Austin's murder and in fact, within this week, she gets arrested. It is interesting to note that Victor is seen last week with fingerprints on his table as he instructs an unknown person over the phone to start the ball rolling. Many are then led to believe that Victor plays a huge part in this frame-up and is relentless to make Sharon's life miserable to the very end.
By the middle of this week, Sharon visits Avery's office (recall that Dylan commissions Avery to help her with saving Sharon) but she is attacked and knocked down by an unknown person. Later, she wakes up in her home where Summer and Noah find her and the weapon used to kill Austin. As expected, her fingerprints were all over the tire iron enough to mount more than mere suspicion of her part in the crime.
