By

Much has been said about the new Jurassic World movie that's about to hit cinemas around the world. The movie starring Chris Pratt of Parks and Recreation and Guardians of the Galaxy fame will hit theaters in June of 2015 but it has already earned a nomination. This one is for the trailer. The Golden Trailers award shines the light on movie and television marketing and this year is its 16th installment.

Universal Leading The Way

The Jurassic World trailer is nominated for three categories: Best Summer Blockbuster TV Spot, Best Summer Blockbuster Trailer, and Best Original Score. These nominations along with 41 others make Universal the studio with most nominations. Aside from Jurassic World, other Universal movies with notable trailers are Furious 7, Minions, Unbroken, and Ted 2.

The Movie

Jurassic World is a sequel to the blockbuster Jurassic Park which was released in 1993. The events in the new movie takes place 22 years after the events in the first film. This time, the island where dinosaurs were found to be thriving has a fully functioning dinosaur theme park complete with "trained raptors". The said park has been in operation for 10 years and things are getting a little stale so a hybrid dinosaur was created and that's where most of the movie will revolve.

The nomination for the Jurassic World trailer was announced by Evelyn Watters, Golden Trailer Awards Executive Director. Awarding for the different categories will be held the 6th of May at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills.

The nomination could be a start of something good for the movie or it could do nothing at all. One thing is for sure though, the trailer for the movie is a thing of beauty. Aside from that, the people behind the marketing of the movie also created a mock website for the fictional theme park.
