Ratatouille Sequel: Pixar currently planning a 3D sequel; Will Brad Bird still write the movie script?

By

Pixar has never been big on sequels as they are known for coming up with new ideas for new movies. Recently though, the company has announced that they are working on a sequel for The Incredibles as well as Cars. This has a lot of fans of the animated film Ratatouille excited and looking for a possible sequel. The said movie was a big hit not only in the United States but abroad as well. While no plans have been laid out for a sequel, rumors are spreading that it could only be a matter of time before the kitchen genius Remy makes another appearance on the big screen.

In 2014, Pixar's director of 3D production Josh Hollander announced that the movie has been re-done in 3D and will be released in theaters. "We have a version of Ratatouille, which works really well in 3D and we're trying to figure out exactly what the release strategy for that will be," said Hollander. To date, fans of the movie wanting to see the film in 3D are still waiting for the said release.

The movie is based around a rat named Remy who can whip up tasty dishes. He overcame his problem of being a rodent when he made an alliance with a young kitchen worker. Together they were able to turn the culinary world of Paris on its head. In the box office, the duo also had a lot of success as the movie grossed more than $200 million in the US alone.

What's fueling the speculation that a Ratatouille sequel might be in the works is the involvement of Brad Bird in the writing on The Incredibles sequel. Bird is the writer-director for the said film and Ratatouille. The announcement that Bird is working on the sequel of the superhero movie came after a year the project was announced so it might be a long wait for Remy fans as well.
