MTV Movie Awards 2015: Shailene Woody, Ansel Elgort steals Best Kiss despite being a 'Brotherly Kiss?'

By

The Best Kiss Award in the recent MTV Movie Awards held in L.A. on Sunday went to Shailene Woody and Ansel Elgort for their 2014 movie The Fault in Our Stars. During the acceptance speech, the actress kidded about how it felt kissing Elgort in the movie, who was also her co-star in the film Insurgent wherein they played brothers and sisters.

BROTHERLY KISS?

A report says Shailene accepted the award without Elgort who could not make it because of a scheduled shoot. She even joked about the onscreen scene.

"But if you ever wondered what it's like to kiss your brother, it's kind of great," the actress said.

The two stars beat other nominees for Best Kiss such as Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans for Captain America: The Winter Soldier; Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield for The Amazing Spiderman; Rose Byrne and Halston Stage for Neighbors; and James Franco and Seth Rogen for The Interview. The award was presented by Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara who also has a kissing scene in their upcoming film.

VIRTUAL SUPPORT

Elgort on the other hand showed his support and participation via social media. On Instagram, he posted a picture of him doing a thumbs up sign when they won best kiss, with the TV screen as his background wherein Shailene is seen on the stage. The actor also posted a video of him going excited after learning that The Fault in Our Stars also got the Movie of the Year. "Yay we won", he said.

Elgort was on the set for a 6am filming the following day and wished he could attend the MTV Movie Awards 2015 which is already on its 24th year. Instead, he just tweeted he felt touched and lucky and wished everyone goodnight.

The Best Kiss Award is one of the much awaited on the MTV Movie Awards. Last year, the best lip locking scene went to Jennifer Aniston, Will Poulter and Emma Roberts for We're the Millers.
