Apple News Roundup: Touch ID Issues on iOS 8.3, New iPhone Keyboard, No Apple Watch Release this Week, OSX & iOS Updates

Tech giant Apple has been in the news lately as many product launches this week has been slated, including the Apple Watch and the new 12-inch 2015 MacBook, and a good amount of software updates.

No Apple Watch Release This Week

While scheduled for an April 10 launch, Apple Watch has not yet hit stores. Apple Watch has only been made available through pre-orders online. According to an analysis report, Apple has already received nearly 1 million Apple Watch pre-orders since Friday last week. While debuting in nine countries, popular models ordered are the Space grey Sport and the Silver Sport, and the Space Black Apple Watch model has the least.

Apple Watch accessories like the Black Sport band and the Milanese Loop also made rounds in sales records. According to the same report, buyers possibly ordered 1.3 watches on the average and total pre-orders could reach more than a million. However, Apple has announced nothing official for now regarding the sales. CEO Tim Cook nevertheless in an interview that "orders were great."

OSX & iOS Updates

In the software department, Apple brings in new updates for both OSX and iOS, plus new apps are made available. For OSX, the latest update will give users of up to 80 premium bug fixes for OS X 10.10 or Yosemite. Part of the patch also is the 2015-004 Security Update, alongside new Photos app.

For iOS 8.3, issues with Touch ID has been addressed through an update. Previously, some users have had problems accessing the iTunes store due to fingerprint security disruptions. Accordingly, iOS 8.3 breaks Touch ID authentication for purchases within the App Store.

Rumored New iPhone Keyboard

A new keyboard technology has been in the news that Apple has been longing to buy due to its recurring appearances. The said keyboard allegedly coming from Dryft only shows up when a user takes touches on the screen.

Apple's new ownership to Dryft has been seemingly confirmed by Randy Marsden, Dryft's chief technology officer. According to his social media profile, Marsdeb has led efforts on developing the tech titan's internal keyboards.
