LG G4 April 28 Release, Monster Specs Revealed: Unique Leather Design leaked; 4,000 Units out prior to launch

By

It is confirmed. The LG G4 hits the market on 28 April.

Images of the company's newest flagship smartphone unit was seen briefly online before its official product page was taken down, possibly for some last-minute detail changes. Nonetheless, the company still sent official invitations to the product launch on 28 April in Seoul, South Korea.

Also, 4,000 units will be handed out in 15 countries before the launch as part of the company's customer experience campaign. Participation will be done via social media, so stay tuned to LG's official social media sites.

"We're putting the success of LG G4 in the hands of consumers before the launch because we believe they are the best judge of a great user experience, beyond just benchmarks and speed tests," said LG Mobile Electronics CEO Cho Juno.

The unit has a leather-back design which is available in six colors: black, red, blue, yellow, gray, and brown. It is also available in the regular plastic design for white, gray and black units.

The LG G4 is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, with a 3GB RAM running the core and apps of its Android 5.0 (Lollipop) OS.

The Snapdragon 810's heating issues apparently have been addressed by the Korean tech giant, so there's no need to worry about any potential safety hazard or performance issues.

This LTE-ready smartphone also has an internal memory of either 32GB or 64GB which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It comes with a 16MP main camera and a 5MP secondary camera, backed by a 5.3-inch QHD 1440 x 2560 LCD.

A removeable 3,500 mAH will provide power to this smartphone unit. Yes, we said removeable. It will use a nano-sim, and will come with a stylus as well.

The LG G4 is 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9mm in dimension, comes in black and has a curved back design with a large camera lens cover.

"We are aiming to become the world's third-largest smartphone manufacturer this year in terms of annual sales. LG Electronics will be aggressive in promoting the G4 in major target markets such as Korea and the US," Juno said to the Korean Times.

"I believe our G4 will also be good. With higher expectations, LG put huge resources into the LG G4," the chief executive added.

Right now, LG's target to become the third player in the smartphone market is held by Chinese phone maker Xiaomi and with the release of the company's new LG G4, it could be possible.
