With smartwatch underway, iPhone 6S is the new buzz in town. It's no secret that the Apple Smart Watch is shaking the market as we speak with reportedly one million pre-orders sent. But that is not what could be the most anticipated event for Apple this year - at least not yet.
Fresh from a slam dunk year-ender last year, where Apple saw the best sales quarter yet in its history, it's highly-likely the Cupertino-based behemoth is going to rev up its marketing engine once again with a one-of-a-kind product this September. And the next flagship to be launched could be the iPhone 6S.
Of course, speculations abound and one strong possibility is that the tech giant may launch the iPhone 7 or the iPhone 6C instead.
Three's a Crowd
As history will tell us it was September last year that the dynamic duo of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were launched.
So it makes a lot of sense for Apple to once again take advantage of September once again this year.
Of course, Apple's schedule may also be liable to change in view of the movements in the market currently - chief among them are the series of product releases already in line courtesy of its major competitors.
As reported on MacWorld, production of the much-awaited iPhone 6S will start in June according to Kevin King, IHS Technology's China director. King confirmed that according to a congregation of reports, supply chain sources point to a production by June.
However, given the successful track record of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, there may be no need to rush the iPhone 6S.
A Stunning Phone in the Works
If Apple will base its decision on its sales records, it's highly-likely the iPhone 6S will boast a 4.7-inch display with such a popular screen size doing well in the market.
Also, the next iPhone iteration may have the same look and feel as its successful brothers, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
That would mean you'd still enjoy the same sleek, slim, light yet rounded design.
Added to this, a new Pink model -instead of the usual choices of Silver, Gold and Space Grey - would be available for the iPhone 6S.
Also, one outstanding rumor reveal that like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge, the iPhone 6S display would wrap around the edges that will provide interactive/touch-sensitive portions giving access to a slew of features (e.g., slide-to-unlock feature, music player controls, messaging readout, caller ID, system controls).
In light of the failed sapphire glass initiative where Apple was to partner with GT Advanced Technologies, the iPhone 6S may carry instead another Corning creation.
To note, it's Corning's Gorilla Glass that is being used in current iPhone and reportedly the durable glass company is developing a new type of glass codenamed "Project Phire" short for sapphire.
Put in a 10mp camera as suggested by TechNews and Force Track Pad which made a killing for the new MacBook, there may be more reasons to long for the iPhone 6S than ever before.
