According to source, Judge Masipa has turned down the request from Oscar Pistorius' camp which argued that her decision was wrong when she said yes to the state to appeal Pistorius' conviction. If you can remember, the athlete was convicted for culpable homicide. However, a lot of people believed that he should be sentenced for murder charges. This might happen soon as the case will now be under the supreme court of appeal.
Meanwhile, the judge who originally sentenced Pistorius of culpable homicide was criticized by millions of people who followed the case. Perhaps, some of you might think that this has affected her life. Quite the contrary, she didn't take it personally. Instead, she believes that a judge should be open to criticisms and even added that their role is not to please the audience.
In the past weeks, it was reported that Pistorius was not really having a bad time behind bars. In fact, he was given a number of benefits or privileges which other inmates are deprived of. For one, he is allowed to hug or to have physical contact with his family or visitors. He has an extra budget for his food and he can even wear some of his jewelries. Of course, this didn't sit well with some of the prisoners as the athlete received threats which made him eat from tinned food. But with the recent news that he will face murder charges, can he still even eat?
