There is no doubt that "Frozen" is Disney's goldmine at the moment in their animated world that's why when Disney announced that "Frozen 2" is currently in the works, fans were not surprised but were delighted nonetheless. Speculations are surfacing online almost every day about the possible plot of the sequel. But one of the biggest questions is who will be the villain this time? Prince Hans' real motive was revealed in the movie but it doesn't mean he can't make a comeback in the sequel.

Prince Hans is Disney's different take on the "Prince Charming" notion so common in every fairytale. Although he's indeed charming, masculine, and has adorable side burns, he turned out to be the anti-hero in "Frozen." He is a cunning prince who wanted to marry Anna just so he could rule over Arendelle and have his own kingdom. However, the public's reactions towards Prince Hans are varied.

According to a report, Prince Hans is one of the weakest in the entire history of Disney villains. For one, his connection to the main protagonist is a little frail that's why when the reveal happened that he is actually the bad guy in the film, there is no grave emotional effect on the characters and on the audience. The feeling of betrayal is there but not really heartbreaking. His motive for wanting to take over Arendelle in "Frozen" is also not that evil. He just wanted to be a king instantly because he is the youngest among his siblings. So it seems like he's just throwing tantrums.

On the other hand, other reports contend that the youngest Prince of the Southern Isles is actually an effective villain and most of Disney's baddies can learn from his tactics. The report mentioned that unlike other villains, Prince Hans masked his true face with sweet smiles and dreamy eyes in "Frozen". He also showed his human side by falling into water and showing his comedic chops by doing the robot dance so Anna wouldn't perceive his evil motive. But most important of all, Prince Hans sang a lovely song with Anna, solidifying his wicked scheme. Will he sing the same tune in the upcoming "Frozen 2" movie?

Some say that Prince Hans should comeback in "Frozen 2" and redeem himself as the prince of the Southern Isles but others think that he will deceive Elsa and Anna once again. But his exit in the first movie is not really a closure to his character. He could really return in the 2018 sequel and once and for all prove that he is worthy to be a king or the most wicked villain.
