"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" movie will see the reappearance of Karen Gillan as Nebula where she will be join the unusual bunch of heroes lead by Star Lord. Director James Gunn is already eyeing to start filming the sequel on February 2016.
Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will start filming early next year according to director James Gunn. One particular villain was also confirmed to reappear in the sequel, alongside in their return as the intergalactic mischief makers. Karen Guillan crossover to Hollywood from being a feisty companion of the Eleventh Doctor in the BBC series "Doctor Who." She was then casted as one of the prominent villains in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy." The red-head actress even decided to go bald to really fit into the role of Nebula.
During an interview, director James Gunn confirmed that the Scottish actress is bound to return in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2." At the moment, Nebula is the only villain from the first franchise who will make a comeback in the sequel. Peter Quill aka Star Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, and Rocket are also expected to appear in the intergalactic movie.
Nebula's story in the "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is still unknown but James Gunn said that her role will have more significance in the sequel compared to the first movie. If they are to focus on the established rivalry between Nebula and Zoe Saldana's character, Gamora, digging deeper into their past is one way of developing Nebula's character. During the end of the first movie, Nebula was seen escaping riding a Nova soldier's spacecraft. It is likely that in the sequel, Nebula and Gamora's paths will once again cross, which may result in an intense action scene.
James Gunn also revealed possible changes in the members of the guardians in the next "Guardian of the Galaxy" franchises, stating that these changes are inevitable. According to a report, the five guardians at the moment may be replaced by Adam Warlock, Angela Moondragon, and more Marvel characters.
For now, Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and Bradley Cooper are set to return and protect the galaxy from Nebula and other villains, which are yet to be named. James Gunn said that he is planning to start filming "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" by February 2016.
