Despite being diagnosed with kidney dysplasia and having recently undergone a kidney transplant, Sarah Hyland lands a cover in Seventeen Magazine's May 2015 issue.
Modern Family's Sarah Hyland has been in the film industry since she was a baby girl. Before she graced Hollywood, a doctor provided prognosis unto her mother saying that she has numerous health complications. One of which was that Hyland is suffering from kidney dysplasia. This health condition exonerates fluid-tumors all over the kidney due to the dysfunction of organs that Hyland has. Furthermore, said doctor concluded that Hyland would not regain a normal life due to her health condition.
Hyland's mother, despite the alarming news, told the doctor that indeed, Sarah will never undergo a normal life but not due to her health complications. According to Hyland, when she found out about this, she felt resonated and even more inspired to do great things and live an extraordinary life. She then used her health complication as a motivating factor to have the guts to make it in Hollywood. To her, being diagnosed with kidney dysplasia is not a hindrance from living a great life.
At present, Hyland has won Emmy Awards for her performance as a lead actress in the hit television series "Modern Family", appeared in other television shows such as "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit", and starred in the movie "Vampire Academy". Although she just recently had a kidney transplant last 2012, she looks healthy and radiant as ever on the Seventeen Magazine Cover.
Hyland's experience of an abusive relationship with his long-term ex-boyfriend was also something that she considered as a motivating factor. She impliedly reveals this as she talks about her past during an interview with Meredith Vieira. She quoted two lines from very famous authors saying that they are her favorites due to the fact that they struck a chord within her when she reads them.
