"Better Call Saul" season 2 will return on 2016 on AMC yet details about the possible events in the second season are still limited at the moment. Bob Odenkirk however, shared his experiences while doing the first season. He commends the believable script of the show and thinks that playing Jimmy McGill's character is 'a lot like life.'
It is without a doubt that the first season of "Better Call Saul" ended strongly, nabbing an average of 5.9 million viewers during its 10-episode run. The solid performance of its debut season on AMC just shows that people are really interested to know the background story of Saul Goodman as Jimmy McGill. Show runners Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan already expressed that they are rooting for McGill, which makes them want to tell his story further in the next season.
Bob Odenkirk agrees to the "Better Call Saul" creators admitting that portraying Jimmy McGill "is a lot like life." Despite knowing that Jimmy will evolve into Saul Goodman, Odenkirk thinks the script is fresh every time he reads it.
"Every time you pick up a script, you really don't know what new elements could creep into it and where it's going to go and the way the characters' choices are going to be reconsidered and changed and altered," Odenkirk said in an interview.
In talks about "Better Call Saul" Season 2, co-creator Peter Gould said he and co-creator Vince Gillan are trying to identify how close is a decent guy like Jimmy McGill to becoming Saul Goodman, someone who uses murder as business strategy. But Gould admitted that he and Gillan still have "ways to go" before introducing the sleazy lawyer.
"Better Call Saul" season 2 will return on 2016 but it looks it would still take quite awhile before its fans see Jimmy McGill transform into Saul Goodman. Bob Odenkirk and the show runners are clearly planning to continue telling the story of McGill and make his transition from being a civilized man to a criminal lawyer.
