Imagine that. Floyd Mayweather, arguably the richest boxer boxing has ever produced, is reportedly losing steam finding the "fun" gone in boxing.
For many who have castigated boxing as a dying sport, the words from the man many call as Money, the most successful boxer in history, could be a fitting proof of the predicted demise of the sport.
Or this is just Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs saying fulfilled needs fail to inspire.
A Dying Sport
Much as pundits have put their two-cents on the topic and arguments have raced back and forth, two of the most well-paid athletes in the world do not carry the Michael Jordan name.
Rather, they're Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, two greats that are set to fight each other in a super-fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 2.
In that one-night of boxing alone, undefeated Money Mayweather is set to earn a whopping $180 million, money other athletes get in their lifetime, notes SBNation.
And as bleacherreport lay the arguments on why boxing is going the way of horse racing, people pay almost a hundred bucks on PPV, a price that even a popular Super Bowl has never commanded.
Still Mayweather saying boxing is boring him is something else.
Man of His Destiny
From the onset, it was all Mayweather.
He called the time of the fight, he called the shots. He dictated the fight.
And it all started when he broke away from his promoter to start his own promotion. That promoter, of course, is none other than the popular Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao's promoter.
Where the eight-division champion boxer from the Philippines would earn his biggest purse yet - a cool $100 million, Mayweather's income would dwarf that by almost half.
Perhaps, the most popular boxer in the world is at the peak of his career.
In a MailOnline report, Money admitted there was time people did not believe he could do the things these things.
He disclosed telling his friends, "The time will come when I make a hundred million dollars in one night."
In response he revealed, "'They told me I was crazy."
But everything is coming true in the upcoming May 2 fight.
With everything he wanted already set, the money and the fame, perhaps boxing offers no more challenges for somebody as successful as Floyd Mayweather.
