The "Star Wars", one of the most celebrated movie franchises in cinema's history is changing its course by introducing a female heroine in its upcoming seventh installment. A brand new trailer revealed at the Star Wars Celebration Day in Anaheim California marked Harrison Ford's return to the movie series. Two new lead stars were also featured in the film, Daisy Ridley as Rey and John Boyega as Finn, roaming around the planet Jakku.
Daisy Ridley is a British actress best known for her performance in the movie Life Saver and Blue Season in 2013. Ridley, together with fellow British actor John Boyega (Attack the Block) and Oscar Isaac (A Most Violent Year) debuts as the latest cast of the much anticipated movie of the year "Star Wars 7." This time around, a female heroine gets the spotlight in the upcoming film. Actually, the whole Star Wars realm is being dominated by women in this upcoming movie.
Producer Kathleen Kennedy is very keen in creating a group of strong female protagonists for the coming film. "Originally, I didn't have a lot of choice," she shares. "Just Princess Leia, right?" "But I'm going [gonna] say now that's going [gonna] change," she continues. Is this an indication that Ridley is just one of the many female heroines to be included in the film?
A brand new trailer of the movie has been recently released, eight months prior to the premiere of the "Star Wars 7." In the two-minute trailer, fans are brought to the planet Jakku and got the chance to see Kylo Ren, the latest villain in the upcoming film. Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) were also featured in the said clip. Harrison Ford's return was also confirmed in a clip from the trailer.
In the recently concluded Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, the three new leads casted for the movie got the chance to share a few details about their characters in the "Star Wars 7" film. Rey is described as a scavenger in a ship grave yard, self-efficient and solitary. Finn on the other hand is a Stormtrooper that will be launched into the Star Wars Universe. Poe Dameron on the other hand is featured as the best pilot in the galaxy. Harrison Ford on the other hand gamely gave a fan sign to fellow cast John Boyega.
"Star Wars 7" debuts in cinemas on December 18, 2015.
