Agent Carter Latest Update: Season 2 highly unlikely; Marvel moves on to a new series with John Ridley

By

Many fans are asking, "what is the Agent Carter latest update?" As much as the news is already out there, it might not sound very good for those looking forward to a second season. This is because Agent Carter is no longer being renewed after its 8-episode run, which ended last February 24, 2015.

Apparently, the story was simply intended to last one season, and without causing a landslide in audience views and acclaim marked by its low season finale rating of 4.02 million overall viewers, it was bound to end.

Marvel's Agent Carter tells about the story of Agent Peggy Carter set in the year 1946 at the time of S.H.I.E.L.D. Portrayed by Hayley Atwell, a deeper understanding of Peggy's character is given light on by showing her struggle for respect from her colleagues and bosses.

She co-stars with other known celebrities such as James D'Arcy (Edwin Jarvis), known from the film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World as well as Chad Michael Murray (Agent Jack Thompson), seen in the TV series One Tree Hill, along with a few more others.

Evidently, the plot does not have much room to fly around, hence its ending after one season.

However, as the doors for Agent Carter closes, another one is soon to open. This time, Marvel fans can set their hopes for a quality comeback as the company works with John Ridley, who worked on the film 12 Years a Slave, to develop a new TV show for ABC.

According to Entertainment Weekly, this project will involve "reinventing an existing Marvel superhero character or property for ABC," making the series very mysterious yet something to be highly anticipated.

With this Agent Carter latest update telling viewers that the series will no longer continue to a second season, waiting for what John Ridley's work with Marvel will yield on ABC is the next best thing to do.
