20th Century Fox and the once in developmental hell project "Deadpool" had just finished wrapping up one of their film sets at the Georgia Viaduct in the Great White North. The said public accessway is actually a twinned bridge located in Vancouver, Canada - the city which the film production had called its temporary home for the past two weeks.
Ryan Reynolds who plays the titular "Merch with a Mouth" character, along with rapper Ed Skrein (Ajax) and Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) are all essentially present in the following spoiler footages, that the production company had released to teased its prying audience recently.
Also, in one of the spoilers is Andrei Tricoteux, who donned the motion-capture suit for the mutant Colossus during the said scenes of the anti-hero film. One of the footages even showed the imposing Tricoteux dragging Deadpool while the former casually talks with Negasonic Teenage Warhead. This prompts the shrewd mercenary to reach for his knife so he could cut off his wrist, freeing himself from the metallic mutant.
Another treat crammed in the spoiler is one of Deadpool's nemesis, the former enforcer Ajax who he skewers with his two swords while lifting him up in the air. Both mutants though possess amazing abilities, Deadpool has regenerative powers while Ajax has a high tolerance for pain.
In related real-life news, Reynolds who calls Vancouver his hometown was more than just ecstatic during the last weekend of the shoot. Vancouver Mayor, Gregor Robertson made a last-minute appearance in the comic book adaptation's set. The public official was all game, knowing that Deadpool has the habit of breaking the "fourth wall" not just in the comics but also in the upcoming film. He and Reynolds further cranked it up as they exchanged "tweets", which involved "a gigantic water slide from Whistler to Vancouver" and "Beachcombers".
"Deadpool" is slated to open in theaters on February 12, 2016.
