"Fifty Shades of Grey" took almost everyone by storm when it hit theaters last Valentine's day. Now that the sequel is set to start filming on 2016, fans are anxiously waiting for new stars to join "Fifty Shades Darker". Speculations swirling online claim that award-winning actress Charlize Theron will grace the sequel as Elena Lincoln. She remains the fan favorite to play the role with her acting skills and striking looks that will surely clash with Dakota's sweet face.
Elena Lincoln is Christian Grey's business partner and a friend of his adoptive mother. She's a very beautiful woman who seduced Christian when he was just a teenager. She became his domme (female dominant) for nearly six years, which made Ana uncomfortable when she's around. Elena dislikes Ana and even tried to break her relationship with Christian. By the end of the second book, Mr. Grey decided to cut off his business ties with Elena so she won't bother him and Ana again.
Meanwhile, reports remain persistent that Jamie Dornan won't return in the upcoming sequel due to the extreme scenes in Fifty Shades of Grey with Dakota Johnson. There seems to be a lack of chemistry between the two lead stars which leads to their intimate scenes being uncomfortable.
Thus it is no surprise that recent reports reveal Jamie Dornan being replaced by "New Girl" actor Max Greenfield. Max expressed his interest in the role and even jokingly said that perhaps he could be the "51st Shade" in an interview. Dornan's spokesperson however, made it clear that the 32-year old actor was delighted with the success of "Fifty Shades of Grey" and will be reprising his role in the sequel.
New faces will surely grace "Fifty Shades Darker" that will excite the fans of the series even more. Charlize Theron is yet to make an official statement if she will join the franchise but is surely welcome to play Elena Lincloln. Despite the undying speculations, Jamie Dornan will reprise his role as Christian Grey while it is very evident that some actors covet his role including Max Greenfield.
