"Divergent: Allegiant" stars Theo James, Shailene Woodley, and Ansel Elgort will start filming the Part 1 of "Allegiant" on May according to producer Todd Lieberman. The three of them have been working onset for years now since the filming of the first book in the "Divergent" series. Rapport was already built among them that during a scene in 'Insurgent' Elgort asked Theo if he could sub in and kiss Shailene. Meanwhile, Theo James has reportedly turned down an "Underworld" project since the actor is more concerned with his role in "Allegiant."
Ansel Elgort shared in an interview that during the filming of "Insurgent," the 21-year old actor asked if he could sub in for Theo James in his kissing scene with Shailene Woodley. Elgort said that James was not feeling well during that time that's why he jokingly asked James if he could do the scene with Woodley.
"I said, 'Listen, I've done it before, and guys that do the visual effects in this movie are good, so they could have easily changed our bodies and it would have been cool," he teasingly said.
Had Theo James agreed to his co-star's amusing request, it wouldn't be the first time that Ansel Elgort will kiss Shailene Woodley onscreen. The two shared a passionate kiss in the film adaptation of John Green's novel "The Fault In Our Stars" and had just won the Best Kiss Award in this year's MTV Movie Awards for it. Shailene Woodley went solo that night and accepted the popcorn trophy. She gave a short, funny speech wherein she addressed her odd relationships with Elgort in their shared movies by saying,
"[Ansel] wishes he could be here. He's busy doing a movie. But if you ever wondered what it's like to kiss your brother, it's kind of great."
Meanwhile, Theo James turned his back on an "Underworld" opportunity where his character in the series, David, was raised from the dead. The actor chose to turn down the offer due to conflicting schedules with "Allegiant," showing his dedication to the filming of the "Divergent" series.
"Divergent: Allegiant" main actors Theo James, Shailene Woodley, and Ansel Elgort will reprise their roles for "Allegiant" Part 1, which will start filming this summer and will hit theaters on 2016. Through time, the three of them became good friends even off screen and had shown dedication in doing the "Divergent" series.
