Constantine Renewal/Cancellation Update: Hope for Matt Ryan's return not lost; EP Daniel Cerone to share Season 2 ideas to NBS this April

By

The latest Constantine renewal/cancellation update continues to show some uncertainty. However, there is still hope for fans who wish to see more of this show as Executive Producer, Daniel Cerone could still sway NBC to push through.

Earlier this month, Cerone made a post on Twitter that goes, "NBC invited us to pitch 2nd season ideas late April. Not "dead." Stay hopeful. #SaveConstantine #Hellblazers."

Constantine is NBC's DC Comics-based supernatural drama series. The premiere of the Hellblazer adaptation aired on October 24, 2014.

The first season, which has the possibility of being the last, ended last February 13 ,2015. Matt Ryan, who plays Constantine, has been acclaimed on Screenrant to be very spot-on in his role. It would be unfortunate to cut his exposure so soon.

Be that as it may, the ratings for several episodes have dipped, reaching below 1.0 million viewers. Moreover, Constantine is very heavy on the effects, making production costly.

Showrunner Cerone shared a statement on the ComicBook site about production matters, after clarifying that there's still a chance for Constantine season 2, which goes, "is it fair to say that Constantine is a long shot? Sure, that's fair to say. While we marginally improved... we're a very expensive show to produce."

Too bad for the series, it has the pressure of attracting a lot of viewers, unlike certain programs like Hannibal. The said show isn't produced by NBC and requires a small licensing fee to air; that even with 0.7s, it is still able to make profit for NBC.

Another reason for Constantine to feel shaky is the recent news that NBC will continue Emerald City for 10 episodes for 2015-16. This will only take up room for Daniel Cerone's adaptation to emerge, as reported in Seriable.

The final verdict for the Constantine renewal/cancellation update has yet to arrive, but it is definitely getting nearer by the day. Supporters of this series should know now is the best time to do their part to help the show stay alive.
