The new Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone specs has just been released with features bearing the latest processor, an upgraded front-facing camera, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The Sony media release provided details on the flagship smartphone successor to the Z3 which ZDNet cites as bearing many of the former's features such as 3GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, and microSD support up to 128GB.
The Z4 however bears an upgraded Qualcomm 64-bit octacore Snapdragon 810 processor.
The Z4 retains the Z3's 20.7 megapixel main camera with autofocus, LED Flash, face detection, touch focus, geo-tagging, panorama, HDR and a ½.3-inch Exmor RS sensor, but has upgraded the front camera to 5.1 megapixels in its bid to create better selfies for the user, according to a Tech Times review.
The Z4 also bears a 25mm wide-angle lens, a 5.2-inch screen Triluminos display with shatter-proof glass, and 1920x1080 pixels. It is also dust and water resistant up to over 1 meter for 30 minutes.
The Z4 sports a "cooking mode" for sharing pictures of one's culinary feats, and the "premium Random Auto mode" with backlighting in the dark, adjusting optimal settings for the clearest pictures.
The new Sony handset bears the same basic design as the Z3 but is thinner at about a millimetre, measuring 6.9 mm thick, 146mm long and 72mm wide. The Z4 weighs 144g, lighter than the 152g of Z3.
The slightly slimmer design of Z4 carries a slightly smaller battery with lesser capacity at 2930mAh instead of the Z3's 3000 mAh, but still offers 17 hours of talk time on 3G.
The Xperia Z4 will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with instructions on how to get the 5.1 upgrade. The Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone comes in four colours: white, black, copper, and aqua green.
