Odin Lloyd Murder Case: Former NFL Star Aaron Hernandez To Face Wrongful Death Lawsuit

By

The mother of Odin Lloyd, Ursula Ward, decided to go through with a wrongful death lawsuit against Former New England Patriots NFL star Aaron Hernandez. Lloyd's family desires compensation, although money can replace the tragic loss.

The family aims to pursue possession of Hernandez's $1.3 million home in North Attleboro, as well as an unspecified amount, according to Boston.

Hernandez was convicted a couple of years ago in 2013 for the murder. Lloyd was the romantically linked to Shaneah Jenkins, the sister of Hernandez's very own fiancee. He had a history of considerably violent behaviors prior to the event, having been involved in a number of bar fights.

A verdict was released last May 15, 2014 which found him guilty of murder in the first degree, alongside a notorious 5 firearm charges. Hernandez had been sentenced to serve a lifetime, outing the possibility of parole.

Hernandez had been held up in custody for a year and a half now, following the murder of football player Odin Lloyd. Lloyd was shot and killed in a park around the vicinity of Hernandez's residence. Not long after, Hernandez was arrested and brought in.

According to a CNN report, he is to be sent to a state prison in Souza-Baranowski. Department of Corrections spokesman Darren Duarte stated: "I don't know the date, but he'll be going there. That's the maximum-security facility."

Apart from the murder of Lloyd, Hernandez was also indicted for the double murder of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado back in 2012, of which he is currently being tried. He apparently gunned down the two Cape Verdean men outside a nightclub.

Sheriff Thomas Hodgson of Bristol County attested to the extent of Hernandez's charisma, manipulating people of Bristol County House of Corrections to get his way. According to Yahoo! News, the sheriff even added with distaste: "He'll probably do fine. He'll be able to talk his way through everything."

Aaron Hernandez caused trouble even behind bars, once threatening a prison guard and getting into a fight with a fellow inmate. For the time being, it is enough justice that he is locked behind bars and is no longer a threat to the public.
