Michael Schumacher faced a critical and life-threatening injury. Latest news revealed that the F1 Racer has started to show signs of recovery. However, the famous racer's condition had left some to speculate that his family is now left in state of debt.
The 46 year-old retired seven-time Formula One World Champion had been in a coma for many months. While skiing in the French Alps, Schumacher had an accident wherein he hit his head so hard that despite having worn a helmet, he was still damaged with fatal injuries.
His condition was so severe that the racer's family had to seek special medical attention. According to a source, Schumacher's medical bills were amounting to as much as £100,000 in a course of a single week for his therapy alone.
Because of the accident, the German racer's endorsements were all pulled out according to one source, which will apparently lead to his loss of quite a lot of money. Michael also stays at home while he is recovering, but doctors claimed that that was so due to his home's familiar surroundings which were believed to benefit his recovery.
Now, according to a publicist, "Schumi (Schumacher) cries, and sometimes mysteriously. He cries when he hears his children, his wife's voice, his' dogs. In the silence of that room, a tear runs down his thin face at a known sound."
Fans were also very supportive of Michael and his family, and get well messages were being sent all the while from around the world.
In terms of his family's financial state, it was claimed that Schumacher and his family will not be drowning in debt. He was a millionaire and earned so much during his career that it was all enough to pay for his medical bills and family's needs.
The legendary icon is still recovering since the accident which happened on December of 2013. According to updated reports, positive recovery is coming although very slow, and Schumacher had started to recognize his surroundings.
