In Survivor Season 30 Worlds Apart episode 9, survivor Dan Foley won the advantage at the auction giving him a double vote at any tribal council.
The merged Merica Tribe then eliminated Jenn Brown at tribal council who has become the 3rd jury member at Ponderosa after being the 10th castaway to be voted out in the reality TV series, Survivor now on its season 30 and dubbed Worlds Apart.
Jenn's leaving the island was apparently not a surprise for the audience as she was leading the Golden Derby predictions on who would be voted out in the episode titled "Bring the Popcorn."
In a TV Line interview Brown divulged that she knew she was on her way out after realizing Foley would not join her alliance. At the start of the Survivor auction castaways Mike Holloway, Dan, and Carolyn Rivera had made a pact to holdout from buying any item to get a shot at the advantage at the end.
Host Jeff Probst presented a dilemma for the trio to buy a letter from home to which the trio reacted by agreeing to buy theirs for the same amount in order for them to have the same shot at the advantage. The trio were then asked to draw straws with Dan coming out with the lucky pick.
In a CBS interview by Survivor 26 Sole Survivor John Cochran, Brown disclosed she gave permission for the tribe to vote her out. The 22-year-old sailing instructor from Long Beach, California reportedly wanted to leave the game after being dismayed at how her friends and allies have been eliminated before her, and witnessing how "horrible these people were to each other for money."
Brown says she knew she was going to be voted out soon and did not want to prolong her stay. She also says she wanted to save Shirin Oskooi who still wanted to play the game.
As a juror Brown shares her criteria for her vote for the final survivor, "It's not whether you were loyal - that doesn't matter. This is 'Survivor.' Whoever played the all-around best game."
Survivor Season 30 Worlds Apart airs Wednesdays at 8pm on CBS Television.
