Orphan Black has recently premiered its 3rd season, which had the title, "The Weight of This Combination." The episode picked up very closely from where the 2nd season left off, allowing fans to get the story in their heads back on track.
The ratings for the Orphan Black premiere were inconclusive, as explained by Deadline. For BBC America alone, it didn't look too good as the 3rd season opener ranked the lowest, when compared to the previous two.
However, Live + 3 results show that that Orphan Black was able to get 1.9 million viewers across 5 channels, making it a 51% leap from what the second season achieved. Fans who missed the episode are certainly wondering what they missed.
First off, after being hit by a sharp pencil through the eye, a joint effort of Sarah and Cosima, Rachel is still confined. Based on her behaviour in the premiere, the Orphan Black clone is very likely to have suffered brain damage, but the extent requires more evidence.
The story of Project Castor, the side of the male clones portrayed by Ari Millen, will further unfold in the second episode entitled, "Transitory Sacrifices of Crisis."
The official synopsis goes, "Castor puts Leda clones for original tissue samples. Helena, who is pregnant and imprisoned, is examined by a mysterious new villain. The Castor boys are also out to play... But it's not all fun and games for the Castor boys, as Sarah gleans they may have a mysterious defect that puts their lives in peril."
Moreover, Graeme Manson, the series showrunner and co-creator had an interview with Forbes, saying that there is still a possibility for more Leda clones to come. He, then, humors on how far can Maslany go with acting out multiple identities.
Fans should look out for the coming Orphan Black Season 3 episodes. Considering that the producers are firm in ending the series after five seasons, every moment in witnessing more of the story of these clones should be savored.
