The "Key and Peele" comedic duo managed to promote their show with a bang as Keegan-Michael Key participated in Obama's Correspondent Dinner. He played no one less but Luther, the president's "angry translator" and managed to touch the funny side of nonetheless but the President of the United States of America.
President Barrack Obama has been known for having a good sense of humor, but never did anyone anticipated to see him working side by side with Key in a light and "meaningful" comedic scene in his Correspondent Dinner last Saturday, April 25, 2015.
The entertaining and unexpected collaboration featured Obama talking about his take on national issues, fund raising climate change and the correspondent dinner itself while Keegan-Michael Key translates his sentences in a funny and sarcastic way.
"Hilary will have to raise huge sums of money too." The President explained as he airs his side about fund-raising. Luther candidly translated "Oh, yeah. She's goin' get that money. She goin' get all the money. Khaleesi is coming to Westeros."
Key's portrayal of Luther was raging but has a specific swagger that was entertaining and an eye-opener of sorts. The duo's take on the President's is "seemed to articulate an unspoken longing among many Obama Supporters, and perhaps within the black community as a whole," according to Zadie Smith of the New York profile.
Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key are part of the "Key & Peele" comedic duo that features provocative and entertaining take on life, social media, TV shows as well as on anger-translating the president of the USA. At times, they go as far as spoofing Nazis or simply making fun and satire about daily living and life. The show distinctly highlights the duo's camaraderie and interesting point of view in life.
The angry-translator experience Key had managed to share with the US President is a great start and a smashing introduction to the show's return this coming summer. If the stunt was Obama's idea or not, he definitely manage to help the show hit if off in a good note.
"Key and Peele" season 5 returns on July 8, 2015 featuring all new episodes available on Amazon Instant Video and on the comedy Central.
