Following their seventh studio album with some new clips from the studio, American alternative metal band Deftones is gearing up for a new record as frontman Chino Moreno revealed the tentative release date for the new LP. In an interview with BBC Radio 1's "Rock Show With Daniel P Carter," Moreno announced that the new album will likely debut on September 25 this year.

In the said interview, Chino Moreno particularized about the progress of the actual album. "The record as far as music has been all recorded and I am currently working on the vocals," he said. The good of the earth is also in favor as the frontman exclaimed that the new record is becoming good. "I've been recording from my home studio here in Oregon. Slowly but surely getting it done. It's coming out really good, it's another Deftones record, I feel like us reaching a little bit, getting more into... The song structures, trying to challenge ourselves a little bit you know what I mean? It's sounding good, I think it's gonna be a great record."

The new album will consist of sixteen songs and is once again being produced by Matt Hyde. Deftones will also be performing its 1997 album "Around The Fur" on June 18 to 21 at the Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec, Canada, to which Moreno continued: "[It] should be fun. It might be a little bit of a challenge, 'cause there's some songs on that record that we haven't played for years. We've yet to really rehearse for that." He also admitted that it was before he started playing guitar, so he must really be preparing for the upcoming appearance.

Chino Moreno on New Record, Side Projects and Summer Tour With Incubus

In an interview with RollingStone.com, Moreno dished out more details on the song writing and the recording process. "The songs are amazing, and we wrote them in a really cool way. We had all of us in a room together with one person expressing an idea and another person jumping on it. The songs are really built as a collective ...." When asked about the difference between the seventh studio album "Koi No Yokan" and the upcoming record, he said that the new one will be more of a "heady" and that they have taken a step from the last record.

Before the debut of the eighth album, the band will be hitting the road with American rock band Incubus for a summer tour. The headlining run all across States will start from late July to the end of August. Guest performances will come from Canadian rock duo Death From Above 1979 and the LA based indie rock band The Bots.

Aside from working on Deftones album, and a headlining tour with Incubus, Moreno also told RollingStone.com about his other side projects. His Team Sleep band has just completed a sophomore album while the other one Crosses has made its temporary hiatus.

Are you excited for Deftones' new album? What are your favorite songs from them? Or to be fair, what are your favorite pieces from Chino Moreno's other bands Team Sleep and Crosses? Will you be watching Deftones and Incubus this summer? Now who would not love to rock and roll with these bands?
