Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Android 5.0 Lollipop Update being Rolled Out but UK Mobile Carrier Holding Back on Release

By

Call it dubious, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is definitely getting its fair share of Android 5.0 Lollipop Android Update roll-out as confirmed by Google Inc. itself but it seems the UK mobile carrier Three is holding back on the release for its Samsung Galaxy S4 mini users, at least for the UK. What makes this move most unconventional and largely mysterious is that Three Ireland, subsidiary of Three UK is doing a different move in Ireland - a complete somersault as the mobile carrier is rolling out the update in that part of Europe.

Perhaps it is a quandary of sorts. Or perhaps Three is just doing a marketing move and is waiting for the best time for the release. Or perhaps a technical glitch is stalking the system.

Samsung has also confirmed that all versions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 - the Mini including - is getting the Android Lollipop update, notes Geeky Gadgets.

Not too long ago, the Korean tech giant told the public that the Galaxy S4 Mini would not be getting its fair share of Android 5.0 Lollipop update, an announcement that was later reversed.

However, it seems the Mini is fast becoming a controversial device. In a stunning move, UK carrier Three informed the country's Samsung S4 Mini users that the device would not be getting the needed Lollipop update.

Further, the carrier stipulate that it is doing the cancellation on the basis of memory limitations, according to Tech Times.

In a company tweet, customer support team for Three divulged: "There's no plans for Lollipop for the S4 Mini due to memory limitation."

As expected, this has sent chilling red flags to many Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini users all over the world worried about a possible bug or limitation in their devices.

The S4 Mini carries an 8 GB internal memory along with a 1.5GB RAM.

However, in another unexpected development, the Irish subsidiary of Three, Three Ireland tweeted that the Android 5.0 Lollipop Update is in fact approved for the S4 Mini. It said: "... good news, that update has been approved and has started to roll out so you should receive it in the coming weeks."

One good thing that all these developments have produced is that in that part of the world most especially, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is gaining popularity.
