There have been a lot of speculations whether or not there will be a sequel to "The Amazing Spider-man". There was even a report that claims that Marvel Studios will be ditching Andrew Garfield for the role of our friendly neighborhood hero. However, Sony is said to be having a difficulty in raising the bars for the Amazing Spider-man franchise as it did poorly in the second installment and even suggested that there will be no more succeeding installments. But much to the amusement of avid fans a casting call for extras was announced for The Amazing Spider-man 3. The announcement was made for interested male and female (any ethnicity) from ages 18-65 to play as extras for the sequel.
The Casting Call made by Bill Brighton Casting had confirmed a lot of speculations. One is that Sony will be the studio producer of the movie. According to Cinemablend, "this lists the starring actors as Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan with the description, 'Peter Parker/ Spider-man faces a new challenge to protect New York City." With this we can draw a conclusion that the young and adorable Andrew Garfield will still be our Spider-man. Another conclusion that can be drawn out from the Casting Call is that the shooting for The Amazing Spider-man 3 is now concurrent or will soon to come.
Sony had given the public a hint as to the release dates of the sequels to The Amazing Spider-Man which will be in 2016 and 2018. However, given that the second movie was not accepted as warmly as anticipated, the third movie was allegedly moved to 2018 and thus giving way to the release of the Sinister Six ( a group of villains whose main goal is to destroy New York City).
But going back to our adorable Andrew Garfield who is out to still play out the role of Spider-Man/Peter Parker, many fans are excited. Those who have stuck up to the comic book have seen how perfect Garfield is for the role given that he was able to inject the Spidey humor which was missing from the earlier Spider-Man movies. He has all the characteristics that make him fit perfectly for the costume and the role.
But fans will need to wish to the gods that this movie will not turn out to be a flop just like the second film. Sony has been investing a lot with this franchise and fans must watch out for more news aside from the casting call.
