Together with Nintendo, Sony has been one of the pioneers in producing a slim version of their original consoles. With the continued success of the PlayStation 4, it would come to no surprise that Sony will be producing a possible slim version just like what happened to its predecessor. PlayStation fans may however have to wait for the company to confirm the PS4 slim which would presumably happen at the upcoming E3 2015 event in June.
With regards to the features that the PlayStation 4 might offer, many fans sure are expecting a lot. According to Forbes, the PS4 slim would most probably have a slimmer body and an upgraded video card. An upgraded video card would mean that the PS4 slim would be able to support more games.
Another key change that would be welcomed greatly for the new PS4 slim is that it would be less noisy than its older brother. Many users are complaining about the noise that it makes. Although Xbox 360 may appear to be the noisiest, Xbox was able to make amends with it through the Xbox One. However, in the case of the PS3, it had maintained its noise in the PS4, which got many users ask themselves how a console worth €399 could produce so much noise. Hopefully, Sony would be able to address this problem.
Aside from the noise that the PlayStation 4 makes, one of the possible improvements that were hinted is that the PS4 slim will be having a bigger hard disk. According to Gamepur,
"Maybe it was hard to predict but, at this point of the generation, it appears clear that we all need bigger hard disks on PlayStation 4 (and Xbox One, as well). 500GB starting to be too few, considering not only the digital delivery of many contents from PlayStation Store, but also the increasing amount of day one patches and their growing dimensions. Day after day we are forced to download gigabytes of fixes that repair what developers notice after the launch or intentionally leave unrepaired in order to respect their deadline. That's why I suggest PS4 Slim should have at least 1TB hard disks."
Sony is also putting into consideration to support a high resolution 4K videos since it is the trend these days. So console gamers may expect an upgrade in the graphics of their games.
