LG G4 Release: Makes its Debut in Korea Today; IPS Quantum Display Improves Performance

By

The next flagship smart phone from LG has finally been released. The LG G4 has successfully succeeded the LG G3 and has now made its way to the market as it made its debut today in Korea. Given that the G4 has a huge shoe to fill as the G3 released proved to be a success, LG claims that the LG G4 is the "most ambitious smart phone yet" as it focuses on delivering to its users a feel of "comfortable elegance, a great visual experience, and a human-centric user experience".

The LG G4 will be the first smart phone to be launched with a pre-installed Android 5.1 and will be sporting a 5.5 inch quad HD screen with a hexacore processor. The G3 successor has an internal storage of 32 GB and an outstanding 3000 mAh battery. The LG G4 also has a 16 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. And just like its predecessor, the G4 will still have a removable battery and an expandable memory.

The difference between the LG G4 and the LG G3 is that the first is considerably heavier than the latter. Weighing 155 g (against the 149 g for the G3) and with a dimension of 76 x 149.9 mm, the LG G4 is heavier, taller, and wider than its predecessor.

The new LG G4 also obtained the IPS Quantum Display which makes the device improve in brightness, colour gamut, contrast ratio and energy efficiency.

LG will continue on making its handset more affordable as compared to its fellow competitors in the market. However, given that the device is a flagship smart phone, it would cost more than the usual. The metal version of the LG G4 (via PC Advisor) will cost £ 500 while its leather version (according to Clove) will reach up £ 525.

The LG G4 is released in Korea today before being distributed to over 180 carriers all over the world. However, a May 28 release is expected for the LG G4 in the UK.
