Bloodborne Patch 1.03 Successfully Addresses Long Loading Game Times After Being Put to the Test

By

The new Bloodborne patch 1.03 update, already available now, has successfully addressed the issue of long loading times between accessing new areas and respawning by around 40 seconds.

According to reports, the Bloodborne patch 1.03 update reduced loading times between five to 15 seconds.

The safe area, Hunter's Dream, now loads in 10 seconds. Respawning and accessing new areas now takes about 15 seconds and 35 seconds, respectively.

This is a big success for the Plystation-exclusive Bloodborne, since respwning is a constant event in the action-adventure game. The game was released last March by From Software and it is good to see that the developers sought improvements to the game early on.

The game takes place in a decrepit Gothic city Yharnam, known for its medical advances using blood as their primary tool. The player journeys to Yharnam seeking the Paleblood for unknown reasons. The city, however, is plagued with an endemic illness transformed its citizens into bestial creatures. The player then tries to survive and uncover the inner workings of the city.

Previously, respawning took about 44 seconds in complex areas like Central Yharnam.

The 2.7GB update has begun to rollout in various territories as of now.

With others putting the patch to the test using different Playstation configuration, the results of the patch was verified to really have reduced the loading times. Differences were seen between the stock Playstation 4 configuration and the higher configuration, but the bottom line is that the Bloodborne patch 1.03 update did what it sought out to do.

Aside from hastening waiting times, the loading screens were changed from just showing the Bloodborne logo, item descriptions can now be read in the meantime. At least, respawning is now going to give a little bit of additional knowledge.

Also, when the PS4 is put into Rest Mode during online play, the game will now return to the main title screen upon resuming play. This will resolve matchmaking issues related to Suspend/Resume.

The Bloodborne patch 1.03 update also addresses some other bugs, like lifts not functioning, NPC (non-player character) events not triggering, and some bosses hanging (stuck in place, that is).
